AMIS-CAMEROON DOCUMENTARY
AMIS-CAMEROON DOCUMENTARY
We had originally intended a different description for this Video: that is to inform our audiences about the tough life of farmers in Cameroon, and how AMIS-CAMEROON has been actively involved in identifying the different problems that farmers face, and how bringing these to public awareness could help the farmers' voices heard by audiences far off from the farmers' daily woes. We created this documentary specifically to show case our work to Delegates at the2011 Opportunity Collaboration in Ixtapa, Mexico, hence taking the unheard voices of Cameroonian farmers to places they might never set foot on. Through this Documentary their story has been told , and people with humane hearts have listened and who knows, someone out there might take action to enable AMIS-CAMEROON ease the daily burden of these farmers. But something happened along the line that moved us to do more than just a showcase of this video..This Video is a DEDICATION to an especially hard working Farmer. This Documentary is Dedicated to the Memory of Mr Ashu, Founder and CEO of NCHEMTI Farms located in Ekona, South West Region.Like Millions of hard working farmers whose plea for help goes unheard, Mr Ashu got ill and died after a brief illness. simply because he didnt have the resources to take care of himself when sickness struck. He practiced and advocated knowledge sharing amongst the young inexperienced farmers and those who have been in the profession for long. There is no doubt he was a great resource ...

Saucer Dance (Tari Piring) - International Day CSM 2010
The Saucer Dance or Tari Piring is a Minangkabau tradition that pays homage to Dewi Sri (the rice goddess) and expresses gratitude for an abundant harvest. Some of the movements in the dance symbolize the farmers' daily activities like tilling the land, weeding and harvesting. Performed at International Day, 13 Nov. 2010 at Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado, USA, Maria Patricia Alexandra, a very talented freshman student from Indonesia, did a very great job! Enjoy!

"Returning to Roots" Season 2 (Boro) EPS 1
Hridoye Mati O Manush, the agricultural mission of Channel i took this new initiative to introduce the significance of agriculture and farmers among the new generation as part of its many other initiatives, taken so far. The initiative is now known as, 'Firey Chol Matir Taney' or 'Returning to Roots'. Agriculture is the main stay of our economy but it always remained beyond the urban thoughts for many years. Farmers sacrifice their life to feed the entire population, but even today's city-dwellers could barely feel farmers' struggles and miseries during farming processes, let alone the new generation. They don't even have any idea on diverse aspects of agricultural production and commerce. This is a big conceptual gap in an agrarian country where we live. To cut back this gap, Hridoye Mati Manush has taken this initiative to give an overall idea on agriculture to the future country-leaders...the new generation. As part of it, urban students go to a remote village for three days and they work as farm-labours. Through this programme, they'll realize a farmer's deprivation, sacrifice, what they get and what not, wage discrimination and about farmers' daily reality. This is such a practical learning through which, their conception, psyche and agricultural evaluation will transform radically and one day these students can contribute to the sector, not only by becoming a farmer, but helping a farmer with their ideas which they learned pragmatically. 牛犁歌陣, 頭譜( Plow 's Song, a traditional folk show in Taiwan, overture )
Plow's song In the early age, Taiwan farmers plow rice fields by water buffalos. Plowing is a very hard work therefore sometimes farmers sing simple folk songs to release themselves and encourage their pals. These folk songs usually say things that happen in farmers' daily life, usually relate to weather, crops, livestock, and most cases, feeling between young man and young woman. This video records a show that performed in a temple court during its religious festival. The name of this show is " Plow's song formation ( Niu Li Zhen)". This is a very traditional folk show that combines the old songs, traditional instruments and special religional dance steps. The feature says a farmer and his wife banter with each other during their work in the field. The show was commonly seen in temple festivals in south Taiwan before. But it is now almost fail to be handed down due to "Modernization of the countryside". To inherite this tradition, some people train boys to do it. They teach the boys how to sing the old folk songs and how to dance the special steps . It is said that this team performs this show for almost 200 years, and in this video, we see the kids do it very well. 拍攝日期: 4/22/2012 拍攝地點: 台南西港慶安宮表演團隊: 七股慶善宮牛犁歌陣

Can I study Christianity and Vipassana at the same time and benefit from both?
Can I study Christianity and Vipassana at the same time and benefit from both?
Nameste and Pranam Gurumaa, I am from Nepal. I listen you on TV. I am very much happy and thankful to enlighten myself with your words. These days I practice Vipassana Meditation. Though the meditation, your videos and words teaches a lot, I have a different question today. Since I started to show interest in spirituality and religion, different questions arises. So, I am seeking answers to the following questions, among others. Why some people do not meditate and gain spiritual heights like Christians? Why there is so much contradiction in different religions? I will probably be going to a church school to continue my further studies where I must take course on religion, may be Christianity. Can I benefit from praying, studying religion like Christianity etc while practicing Vipassana which is a teaching of the Buddha? Or, is there any harm? As for Christians say God Jesus protects you, helps you etc which is opposite to what I know that nobody can help you. Gurumaa; Mabe Sanju, the truth is that the teachings of Christ, have got lost in the Vatican style of preaching. Moreover, the enlightened words of Jesus have been misinterpreted and you would be really shocked to know this that Jesus himself practiced Buddhism at one time, when he was in Kashmir. He stayed in a monastery. There are many researchers now who believe this and if you check on internet you will find that definitely. Although Christianity & the Vatican denies it totally, but there is a parallel line of ...
